You might’ve seen us mention Creatives for Black Lives on our Instagram stories yesterday, but ICYMI, they’re an initiative that aims to provide pro bono services to organizations working towards racial justice for the Black community. Covid-19 has taken a toll on the job force, the creative community included, and offering no-cost services is a great option for anyone who wants to add value to the Black Lives Matter movement but is cash-strapped right now. (It’s also a sustainable way to stay involved year-round, regardless of your employment status.)

So how does it work? Participants can register and commit to donating time, skills and efforts to the movement. Then, organizations seeking help can cruise the catalog of talent, and if they want to work with you they’ll reach out. So far, the categories include photography, post production, graphic design, writing, digital strategy, videography, web design, web development and mural creation, but the list is growing by the day as more people offer up their talents. And currently the number of volunteers is over 450! If you feel you’ve got talents (and availability) to contribute, most definitely get in touch to keep that registry growing big and strong.
