Hey there! Welcome to the sixth edition of District StyleFile. In case you missed us last time, each week we’ll be featuring the news, events, people, and stores that are putting STYLE back into this buttoned-up city.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner continue their world domination with a new collection for Topshop debuting in SOME Nordstrom’s locations (and online) November 20. I was tempted to boycott it out of pure spite, but then I saw this choker that Kendall’s wearing…just take my money, JUST TAKE IT. The rest of the collection isn’t too bad either.

Happy 30th birthday to Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge, we can now all pretend that in a few years we too will be a supermodel and married to the hottest member of Kings of Leon.
Eco-spa The Emerald Door in Silver Spring is launching its Skincando Organic Facial Pop-Up, starting this Saturday November 21. I’m not exactly sure which two combination of words “skincando” is, but I like to think it is “skin” and “avocado,” although maybe I’m just hungry.

Wear it Washington: The Sample Sale – Dock 5 at Union Market – December 13 – $30 / $50 VIP
STILL HAPPENING! Do you have your tickets yet? This event seems fairly worthwhile because it is essentially the Washingtonian cleaning out their closet and having a yard sale. Except classier and less negotiating with the strange people who show up in your front yard.
Cool D.C. Fashion Instagrammer of the Week: Poor Little It Girl
This is the one you probably already follow. But the grand pooh-bah of D.C. style Instagrams still deserves a mention in case you’ve been living in a cave, (understandable, the world is crazy,) and haven’t heard of this stylish lady. The brain-child of Cathy Anderson, who was also recently named one of the Washingtonian’s 10 Best-Dressed People in Washington Right Now, has an amazing feed that makes you feel like you’re just casually scrolling through your stylish friend’s cool insta. Except she’s a complete stranger.
Store of the Week: Violet Boutique
Boutiques in D.C. usually fall into one of two categories “ridiculous, sell your cat for rent money expensive” or “chain store”. Fortunately, this AdMo boutique has accessories and apparel that are both adorable and affordable (my lit professors would be quite proud of that alliteration there).
2439 18th St. NW
And you are now all caught up on the D.C. fashion scene! Until next week…
