Tunes We’re Jamming To This Week
It’s been all about Drake this week. Say what you want about his new album but we’re kind of obsessed with “One Dance.”
Fashion News
With last weekend’s White House Correspondents Dinner and Monday’s Met Gala, it has been quite the week in fashion.
Let’s start off with start off with EVERYTHING MET GALA!
“Did you see Claire Danes dress!?” was just one of the frantic text messages I received as everyone in the very small D.C. fashion world watched breathlessly as the Met Gala red carpet unveiled celebs and designers in rapid succession over our twitter feeds, each dress more fabulous than the last. We’ve put together a few of our favorite winners and losers, mostly out of jealousy.
Winners:
Claire Danes‘ Zac Posen stunner (I can’t even begin to verbalize my feelings on this dress, it is just everything)
Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid (that ARM! Couple goals!)
Losers:
Lady Gaga‘s 80’s troll doll flashback (just meh, so much meh)
As to the White House Correspondents Dinner, I feel like it was much less exciting. Obviously, it’s an event in D.C. and not SPECIFICALLY fashion centric like the Met Ball but overall there was just… a lot of black dresses in various forms. However there were a FEW standouts of the evening.
Winners:
Emma Watson– effortlessly forcing us all dash out and try and find a pair of dress pants to throw on under our formalwear.
Emily Ratajkowski– It is both classy and floral and everything you want in the perfect Washington formal event dress and I want it.
Losers:
Everyone wearing a black dress (looking at you Kerry Washington, and everyone else who I can’t name because it all blurs together in a mess of SAFE DRESS CHOICES)
New Ledbury Opening
In Menswear news, trendy shirtmaker Ledbury made the drive up 95 from Richmond and opened a new store in (where else?) Georgetown. For the record, their men’s blazers have me awkwardly wondering how I can possibly justify buying myself a $675 men’s blazer that will never fit me, because they are kind of fantastic.

Boutique of the Week: Zara
Yes, yes. I KNOW this is a chain store and not unique to D.C. in any way, shape, or form. BUT! Zara’s summer 2016 collection is so amazing, I can’t remember the last time I walked into a store and essentially wanted to walk out with the entire shop. The jewelry itself is so fantastic, and tropical and EVERYTHING you need for your summer wardrobe, which is why I felt that it was important to share with you all BECAUSE, one stop at Zara and you will be 100% set for the season. You’re welcome.
Georgetown: 1238 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007

And that’s it for this week! Stay stylish D.C.!
