Today marks the 25th anniversary of camp actress Divine (October 19, 1945 – March 7, 1988). Born Harris Glenn Milstead in Baltimore, Divine would eventually come to star in director John Water’s most prominent works. Divine was subversive, disgusting, demented, outrageous, and shocking. Yet, he was ultimately embraced by his hometown – which uses his image on multiple tourism campaigns to this day.

Let’s look back at some of our favorite scenes featuring Divine.
