Wish you could see your art splattered across 12oz aluminum beer receptacles? Think you have what it takes to be the next Committee on Opprobriations?

Here’s your shot: DC Brau and The Washington Blade are holding a design contest for a special PRIDE edition of Brau Pils.

That’s right, the DC brewery will be packaging approximately 200 cases of its delicious hoppy lager as PRIDE PILS. These cans will be sold throughout D.C. during June’s PRIDE celebration, with proceeds benefitting both the local LGBTQ youth empowerment program SMYAL and The Blade Foundation.

“DC Brau has always been a proud participant in PRIDE, whole-heartedly joining with DC’s LGBT community in solidarity,” DC Brau CEO and co-founder Brandon Skall said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to raising the bar for this year’s celebration through this creative partnership with The Washington Blade.”

So, yeah, yet another example of DC Brau showing everyone how the whole “community brewery” thing works.

Creative people of the world: All entries must be submitted here by March 3. After that, the brewery and newspaper will narrow the submissions down to three finalists, and between March 13 and 24, the public will be able to vote on a winner via the Blade’s website.

In other Brau news, the brewery will be releasing a new Helles lager this Saturday. More details can be found in our monthly beer event round-up Draft Picks.
