There’s nothing we love more than true crime. We talk about it, we read about it, hell, we built the Death Becomes Us true crime festival. So we decided to take our daily true crime chats (it’s a fun office environment!) and condense them into an easy to read column jam packed with all the crime news you crave. From our favorite podcasts, to some classic #TBTs, we’ve got all the talking points you need to scare your friends and family.

DISPATCHES FROM THE DEAD: PODCAST RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Our very own WTOP is jumping into the true crime podcast arena with 22 Hours: An American Nightmare, which covers (you guessed it!) the Mansion Murders. They’re only two episodes in so you can still get ahead of the curve.
  • The folks behind Up and Vanished and Atlanta Monster released a new podcast this week! Culpable takes a deep dive into blame and what it means to get justice. The teaser starts out with the dictionary definition of the word culpable, but it seems like it gets better.
  • And speaking of investigations, check out Somebody Somewhere which seems like it should be hilarious riff off of Someone Knows Something, but it’s definitely not. Season one covers the murder of federal prosecutor Tom Whales while season two looks at a mass shooting at one of Seattles homeless encampments.
