Another week is upon us, and spring has arrived earlier than expected which means so will the cherry blossoms, the Beer Garden on 14th street has re opened (very exciting), and people are strutting around in their spring colors and minus a few layers. As usual we bring you DC’s street style round up from our stylishly talented bloggers, looks full of trendy colors, floral prints, wide pants, and yellow nails! Don’t forget to check out their blogs for where you will find more ideas for your spring wardrobe! (oh, and if YOU are a street style blogger and would like to participate in these, let us know, email [email protected])

THE PRESIDENT WEARS PRADA

In honor of this week of summer weather, we are revisiting one of our favorite summer photo shoots ever: a girl stranded on the side of the road wearing a Hussein Chalayan “Speed of Life” collection dress, Christian Louboutin Hyper Prive pumps and a J-Crew belt. Happens every day right? – See more photos from the shoot HERE

KATIE WARREN FROM GO KATE SHOOT

Cherry blossoms are popping out early, tequila-fueled happy hours are reining (oh HELLO $2 taco Tuesday!), and DCers are getting FRISKY as spring begins in a major way. This is translating to a delightful shift in wardrobes as the style set works lighter, brighter pieces in place of their humdrum winter uniforms. Brights are coming on strong in yellow, chartreuse, and hot pink, and smart gentlemen are layering up street-cool sweats and knits to ease into the new season. I hope you’re airing those limbs in this balmy weather; keep sampling the happy hour tequila and it’ll all look better.

MELANIE FROM LA BELLE MEL

Hi-Low: Geometric Dress & Jean Jacket

I’m so ecstatic that the temperature is turning around and spring is right around the corner. It was such a beautiful day that I wanted something casual and brought this dress out to play, with its unique geometric print and its hi-low hem. I’ve seen a lot of hi-low tops and dresses lately, which seems like the trend nowadays. However, I’ve tried to stay away from them as much as I can, because of that.

If you do want to try them out, definitely stick to cheaper brands or buy a blouse or top that have a straight hemline and tuck in the front. This way, you can still use the item even after the trend has passed. I made an exception with this dress, because I can always create a straight hem later. However, for a blouse that is cut too short at midriff and kept long in back, there isn’t an easy way to add on fabric to the front without making it look bad.

KATYA AND CARLIS FROM SPICY CANDY DC

I finally got my Kitch patent shoes from Top Shop a few days ago (it only took almost a month for them to arrive…grrr), but thankfully it was a beautiful spring day, so I finally got to wear them to an afternoon date with the girls and had a flats face off with Carlis’ furry beasts lol.  I figured to pair them up with an otherwise basic outfit since they’re so colorful, but still got a lot of stares from walking by pedestrians.  I don’t think people in Old Town, Alexandria are used to such colorful shoes, but little do they know there is a new fashionista  moving into the neighborhood 🙂

Let me introduce you to my furry little flats hahah.  I found these ugly yet beautiful pair on one of my many thrifting adventures! I love them because they have character and yes they are furry! lol  I planned this outfit around them, I really like the contrast of purple and red so when dressing this morning I knew I also had to take my lavender vintage blazer out to play!

ALISON FROM CHAIN STRAP PURSE

Green is definitely having a moment. One I’m happy to be a part of! And with St. Patrick’s Day being only ten days away, it’s the perfect color combo to get me in the spirit!
And let me just say how excited I was to snag these wide leg pants from Forever 21. I had seen them online and fell in love with the color and style. It’s not often you can actually find something from the website in the store (and vice versa), but I was fortunate enough to hunt them down.
As someone who is – ahem – shorter in stature, I love how the long line helps elongate my frame. I even feeltaller! Of course, these pants made a pit stop at the valet shop in my building, but even short girls can wear wide leg pants if they’re tailored correctly!

CHERALEE LYLE  FROM LYLE STYLE

“I am getting way too excited for Spring, the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. In honor of my favorite season I wore this sweet shift dress with a full skirt with a pretty pattern on it that reminds me of vintage wall paper. Bring on Spring!”
