I’ve always been a fan of the preppy look and a big influence is probably due to the fact that I grew up on the east coast. I wouldn’t label my style full on prepster but I do notice it shows up in it’s own way in my outfit choices and the clothes I tend to buy. For me, I like to add a twist to the preppy look, whether it be adding chunky jewelry or mixing it in with funky shoes.
I recently bought shirt because I was attracted to the vibrant colors and the madras plaid. It can be versatile enough so you can wear it to work or dressed down for a more casual look to run errands, wear to school, meet friends, etc.

When I paired these shorts first time in April, they were much too fun not to make another appearance again. I love the casualness of the chambray shirt against the shorts and these wedges are always so comfy to wear. Also, why did it take me so long to try the YSL lip stain in Corail Aquatique – such a nice peachy pink color for summer with long-lasting power and very moisturizing! It is my newest love. =)

Each year, my summer weekend fashion rules are simple. My outfit has to pass these three tests:
– Survive an entire day of lazing outside; rolling in the grass, BBQ smoke shrouds & unplanned naps may be involved.
– Save me from the sun. As much as I love summer, there is nothing worse than starting it with a sunburn.
– Work in different settings. I would hate to say no to an impromptu summer soiree just because I’m not dressed right.

This outfit passed all my tests. It was crease-resistant, comfortable and above all fun (just look at that happy color!.) I added my trusty old straw tote and I was set for a day of adventure.
