WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around D.C.) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy…

  • Nationals Park now has a special, private room for breastfeeding mothers to watch the game. At least one of our sports teams is compassionate. (via WTOP)

  • The Alliance of Guardian Angels, an anti-crime nonprofit founded in 1979, will be once again patrolling NoMa – Gallaudet and Rhode Island Avenue Metro stations as well as the Metropolitan Bike Trail. I’m sure they do great things but they’re name sounds like a cult. (via City Paper)
  • This is a weird one. So apparently a woman named Alyssa who is “from D.C.” saved Bono and couple months ago after he was in a bike accident and so he gifted her with VIP passes to yesterday’s concert in NY. When she was invited on to the stage she started talking about how she had to stop and help him because she is from Virginia and people are nice there, unlike in NY. Of course, people in the crowd started to boo (because New York is an actually the worst) and now people are trying to figure out who she is. Are you Alyssa? Am I Alyssa? (via Washington Post)

  • Speaking of Virginia, the state is recalling license plates with the Confederate flag on them. Nice. (via Washington Post)
  • Apparently we have the “Best Backyard Ambiance of Any State” whatever the fuck that means. (via Washingtonian)
  • Slayer is in the Smithsonian. Just, FYI. (via WAMU)

  • Still no word on whether D.C. is going to fight for an Olympic bid. God, if you’re listening, please, don’t let them do it. (via BizJournals)
