WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around DC) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy…

  • HBO has confirmed that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will be the leads in True Detective season 2. Tim Riggins has not been announced. Yet.

  • A new Capitals player, Nathan Walker, is from Australia, and he completely wrecked Sabres player, Karabacek, last Sunday at a game. Read about the player on WTOP and look at his check here. It brought a couple tears to my eyes. Just a couple. (WTOP)
  • In more sports news, people are still angry about the Redskins team name. SHOCKING! Dan Snyder, the Redskins manager, filed a lawsuit awhile ago against the Native Americans that were trying to get the name changed. Now, those Native Americans are asking the courts not to let Dan Snyder sue them. CAN EVERYONE JUST CHILL? (DCist)

  • A bartender at Hill Country Barbecue and a bartender at Roofers Union created a reverse-coaster called “Drink Lock” that prevents date-rape drugs. This seems to be a theme these days and I’m 150% about it. (WCP)

  • The Metro is staying open an extra hour on Thursday to get people home from the Redskins-Giants game at FedEx field. They’re doing something right. THE METRO IS DOING SOMETHING RIGHT! (WashPost)

  • Since that man the other day just casually climbed the fence of the White House and walked up to the front door, White House security has now put up another fence to keep people out!! This fence PROBABLY goes up to my hips. I’m 5’2. Some high security shit, for sure. (NBC)

  • A bunch of inmates at a state prison near Hagerston, MD just grew and donated an excessive amount of produce to the Maryland food bank. This sounds really nice of them until you remember that they’re prisoners and didn’t have a choice. I guess it was nice of the people who made them. (NBC)

  • A Virginia Pastor was sending dirty texts to a 15 year-old. Way to support the stereotype, Father. (WUSA)
