WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around DC) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy…

  • The new Silver Line, which may or may not open sometime within the next century, will have “state of the art restroom facilities.” Just put a restaurant down there and we’ll never have to leave the system again. [via Washington Post]

  • The Capitol was evacuated on Saturday after a pilot used an outdated map to land in in a restricted airspace. Fighter jets flew in. Tourists were frightened. People were embarrassed. [via CNN]

  • The new transportation plan proposed by DDOT is hoping to clear up traffic congestion by offering people incentives for riding bikes and taking public transportation. [via Washington City Paper]

  • D.C. apartments are getting smaller. According to new data, the average size of a class A apartment in D.C. dropped 14 percent between 2000 and 2013. As for prices, they’re… well, staying about the same. [via Urban Turf]

  • Picketers from the Westboro Baptist Church were shut down today after trying to protest outside of Wilson High School. Hundreds of students and neighbors came to counter-protest (with awesome signs). [via Washington Post]
