WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around DC) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy…

  • Capital Bikeshare has finally reached the seven million trip mark! Out of those seven million trips, only 95 people have reported crashing their bikes. Success? (via Washington City Paper)
  • A legal complaint was filed against Kent Amos, who founded DC’s oldest/largest charter school network. The complaint alleges that Amos has been funneling millions from his charter school network to a for-profit-company that he also owns. Cool. (via Washington Post)

  • Capital Fringe is advertising to gentrifiers (I don’t know about you guys but throwing money into pits would never get boring to me). (via POPville)
  • Zagat has the run down on DC’s hottest new restaurants. If anyone is interested in taking me out for my birthday (it’s next week!), take note. (via Zagat)

  • DC is filled with alcoholics. Sounds like my kind of town. (via DCist)
  • DC has a grant that it gives out to business in the District in order to boost business in “emerging retail corridors”. This year, one of the grants was awarded to a place in Virginia. Way. To. Go. (via Washington City Paper)

  • Try not to cry, but both Tonic and Last Exit are closing in Mt. Pleasant. What a bummer. (via POPville)
  • Getting amped for the Silver Line? Check out this calculator that will tell you how much your future fare will be as well as your estimated travel time. Thanks WMATA! (via WMATA)
