WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around DC) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy.

    • The DC Public Library has released three proposals for the renovation/redesign of MLK library. As someone who used to spend a lot of time watching architecture documentaries on Netflix (I ran out), these are cool as hell. (via Washington City Paper)
    • Vendetta is kicking off their ASL trivia night tonight at 7pm. It’s basically your average bar trivia night, but instead of just verbally reading out the questions/answers, the hosts will also sign them. (via Washington City Paper)

    • David Bronner, of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, wants to help legalize pot in DC, just like he did in Colorado. So far he has donated $20,000 to the D.C. Cannabis Campaign. Side note: the D.C. Cannabis Campaign also takes bitcoins if you would prefer to donate to the cause with your favorite cryptocurrency (not sure if they take dogecoin or coinye, though). (via WAMU)
    • The Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church had a banner, which showed support for pastors who officiated same-sex weddings, burned last week. Everything is terrible. (via DCist)

    • BlackSalt Fish Market & Restaurant caught on fire over the weekend. It seems like most of the restaurant is undamaged and firefighters were able to stop the fire before it spread to nearby buildings. Also, no one was hurt (which is always a plus). (via NBC)
    • Senator Maria Cantwell and Representative Tom Cole plan on sending a “strongly worded letter” to the NFL commissioner today in support of changing Washington’s team name. I’m glad they’re showing their support, but at the same time I feel like sending a letter won’t change much. (via New York Times)

‘Til next time!
