WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around DC) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy.

  • It’s really foggy and it’s probably going to stay really foggy for the day.

  • Virginia Representative Jim Moran is retiring after 23 years in congress. That’s exhausting. That’s a long time. (WTOP)

  • Ovechkin is super chill until you ask him about Russia. Then suddenly he’s all serious and diplomatic. Good for him. (WTOP)

  • A City Councilman wants to change a law from 1963 stating that any new streets running in the north-south direction in Alexandria must be named after a Confederate military leader. This isn’t that relevant, since they don’t actually plan on naming any new streets anytime soon, but I mean it’s change so people are getting excited about it. (WTOP)

  • Media in the United States are all up in arms over the fact that the president of France is reportedly having an affair, but France doesn’t care nearly as much since apparently the president and the First Lady of France aren’t even married anyways. So we’re not sure why we care so much, but the story is pretty interesting. (Washington Post)

  • A man who was supposedly injured when he fell while hiking died multiple days after Christmas, and it turns out he didn’t just fall he was actually stabbed. (Washington Post)

  •  There are a lot of foxes just chillin’ around DC. (DCist)
  • For those of you who are just baffled by the new Silver Line and have no idea when it’s going to actually start running or where it’s going to go or where you should get on or whatever the hell else, you can call a number now to ask. (DCist)

  • One Lounge, the cocktail and tapas spot in Dupont Circle just closed after 5 years. We don’t know what’s going to happen to it or when it’s going to happen but we’re staying tuned and hoping it still involves alcohol. (Washingtonian)
