WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around D.C.) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy:
- We have good Metro news! It looks like Virginia and Maryland are finally giving in and trying to figure out a way to give Metro permanent funding.
- And speaking of good Metro news, they might start giving out refunds to people who are 15 minutes late or more. Hell yes.
- PSA of the day: Metro is no longer allowing your SmarTrip balance to go negative. That saved me so many times as a broke undergrad.
- This is the best headline of the day.
- Curbed has a fun little round of up some of D.C.’s most expensive rentals that will make you want to look at your studio and cry.
- Ruptured pipes are ruining everything. Howard has had to postpone classes and streets have turned streets into ice rinks.
- It looks like the Circa at Dupont is becoming Magnolia Kitchen & Bar. Look, I’ll go anywhere that has a half decent burger.
- You can now get drunk at Georgetown’s cat cafe.
- And speaking of booze, I guess drinking wine out of a can is cool now.
- The Line Hotel has not opened quietly. Somebody already got engaged there and they have 27 weddings on the books.
- WTOP talks to a Maryland dispensary about their first month of business and surprise, they’re doing pretty well.
- And speaking of weed, a man was arrested after having over nine pounds of weed delivered to the wrong address
- And it looks like we have a bed bug problem and a coyote problem. Happy Monday!
