WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around D.C.) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy:
- It’s Wawa day! Go get yourself some coffee and a hoagie. (via WBJ)
- Did you know it’s illegal to swear in public in Virginia? (via WAMU)
- D.C. officials have pulled their support from a regional funding proposal MD, VA and D.C. have been working on for months. (via WAMU)
- And in good Metro news, they’ve added free wifi to 24 new stations. (via WTOP)
- NoMa has a brand new park named Swampoodle! The name is equal parts dumb and fun and we’re into it. (via WBJ)
- Here’s a fun reminder to not listen to anything you read on the Internet.
- There’s a petition to allow open strollers onto Metro Buses and it seems very dumb. Buses are small. They can only fit so many people. Your stroller is not a person. Fold it up. (via Fox5)
- These people are paying more than $2,500 a month to essentially live in a hotel and it’s blowing my mind. (via City Paper)
- Town Tavern has becoming a Grinch themed popup bar if you’re looking for a place to get drunk on butterscotch liqueur. (via Washingtonian)
- City Paper spoke to the District’s long term servers (think 18 years at the same place) and it is a fascinating read.
- Amtrak made $204.7 million this November. It was its best month ever. (via WTOP)
- Someone (or something???) made an anonymous threat during the FCC’s Net Neutrality vote. (via WJLA)
- Also, RIP Net Neutrality.
