- The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery is installing a photograph of Muhammad Ali, taken by Yousuf Karsh in 1970, to honor Ali’s accomplishments in his recent passing.
- Deshauna Barber, aka Miss D.C., made the District proud last night when she was crowned Miss U.S.A.. Taxation with beauty pageant representation.
- There was a report of “suspicious white powder.” The D.C. Fire Department thinks its just powdered coffee creamer. Here’s an idea, just use regular coffee creamer so the fire department can move on with their lives (via WJLA).
- A laundry detergent thief was finally arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department after stealing laundry detergent from multiple stores. Apparently there was some cheese involved too (via PoPville).
- The tropical storm that is supposed to make landfall tonight in Florida is probably going to bring severe storms and flooding. The rain is coming to fuck up your week…again (via Post).
- D.C. Office of Human Rights just came out with a guide for businesses on how to make the workplace more Trans-Inclusive, incase you’re still al little clueless as to how to make everyone feel welcome in the workplace (via City Paper).
- Starting next Tuesday, the Washington National Cathedral will start hosting summer hours where patrons may be able to visit the Cathedral for $5. The Cathedral will be open till 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays, and visitors may also get to do “Tower Tours” to get a behind-the-scenes look at the building.
