WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around D.C.) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy:
- Have you voted? Please go vote.
- The weather outside is…
- In good news, there’s some $1 iced coffee in your future.
- And D.C.’s newest music festival is combining some of your favorite female artists with cool outdoor activities like rock climbing and paddling. Who says we aren’t outdoor kids?
- If you’re not sick of reading think pieces about Initiative 77, here’s a think piece about Initiative 77.
- The Washington Post takes a look at D.C.’s culinary history through the lens of some of our favorite dishes. Yes, they do mention Ben’s Chili Bowl.
- Trillectro is back! Rico Nasty will be at Trillectro! Go see Rico Nasty!
- Capital Fringe Fest is coming back! Get ready for some weird theatre.
- Buffalo & Bergen is growing up and opening a second location on Capital Hill. It will probably be just as packed as their Union Market counter.
- The folks behind All Souls are opening up a pizza spot / bar on H Street. It will probably also be just as packed as All Souls is on a Friday night.
- And in the midst of all these openings, Graffiato’s Richmond location is 100% closed.
- Bluejacket has a beer inspired by Metro’s architecture. I’m not telling you to sneak it onto a train and enjoy a delicious cold brewski in the middle of this depressing heat / rain… but I’m also not not telling you to do it.
Now for some NOT STRICTLY DC NEWS:
- The 80-year-old Barbershop Harmony Society is finally accepting women. I don’t know who these people are or where they’re located, but it’s definitely some news!
- The people at Pollfish surveyed 1,000 Americans on their most used emojis and these are the top 10:
