WHEREIN: We bring you the developments (happening in and around D.C.) that we think are newsworthy, or, at the very least, almost newsworthy:
- If you’re not already nervous about Amazon (maybe) coming to town, this article should change your feelings about it real quick.
- D.C.’s higher end Mexican restaurants are challenging the (kind of racist) perceptions around the cost of Mexican food. I used to notice this shit when I was reading yelp reviews of Oyamel years ago.
- D.C. was inundated with famous folks eating at our restaurants this week. Macron had lunch at Tonic, but more importantly, Kourtney Kardashian hit up Charlie Palmer Steak House and RPM Italian.
- The reason why there haven’t been any Mike Isabella updates is because both sides have agreed to not to speak to the media.
- Eater also has a list of some of the best food freebies in D.C. There’s nothing we love more than free.
- Petworth is getting a dose of Cuban food.
- Surprise surprise, the Silver Line extension is running into some problems.
- Curbed goes deep into the history of the Watergate, arguably the most famous hotel / apartment / retail complex in the United States.
- City Paper reached out to local artists to get their takes on D.C.’s cultural plan. It’s a really interesting read of you care about the city’s art scene.
- DC Refined has a cute lil rundown of how to get involved in a community garden. Get out and grow some shit!
- This story will melt you heart (spoiler alert: it’s about cute dogs).
