Here’s your weekly D.C. restaurant news my friends. Warning: the below information will make you hungry. Extremely hungry.

New Venues

Last week the British fast food chain LEON opened the doors to its first US location, at 1724 L St. The restaurant offers a healthier version of fast food, with items like juicy Portobello burgers, baked fries, wraps, salads, bowls and more. I love the black bean, rice, and roasted carrot bowl, and the hallumi wrap is fresh and hearty, with greens, tomatoes, and avocado. Breakfast, dessert and natural sodas are also on the menu. If you work in the area, this where you want to go for a quick lunch.

St. Anselm

Now open near Union Market, Joe Carroll and Stephen Starr sat us down and told us what wines to enjoy in their new restaurant.

The  daily-changing menu will have large and small plates, with various small plates circulating the room on carts. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner service and will seat approximately 100 guests inside the dining room and at the bar.
