For your dance party consideration, my selections this we should, of course, make you want to move your body, and put you in that summer getaway state of mind.

  • Holy Models – “Swimming
Check out this summer jam from James Curd, Adam Frawley and Mitchel van Kaathoven. This 3 piece outfit call themselves the Holy Models and “Swimming” is their debut release. It’s disco at its soul, but the lo-fi textures combined with dreamy synths and vocals give it an ethereal feel. The lullabying tune that will be featured on Eskimo Recordings forthcoming compilation album The Pink Collection this September.

  • ACME – “All Around the World”
DC based ACME, A Company that Makes Everything, released their 5 track album Synths, Beats & Psychedelia this past July. The effort was recorded at Hamden Yards in Washington DC and Bastille Studio in Arlington, Virginia. It’s an amalgam of the eclectic sounds of the titled musical elements. I gravitated to the opening track, “All Around the World” which is huge in sound but also light and airy all at once.

  • Ben Pearce – “What I Might Do (Kilter Remix)”
This one comes by way of Kilter who puts tropical groove on Ben Pearce’s “What I Might Do.” The track is featured on the remix EP released earlier this month, and easily my favorite take on it. Kilter lightens up the moodiness and gives a twilight on the beach vibe.

  • Dan Croll – “From Nowhere (Ben Gomori Remix)”
Another remix to wrap things up this week. Ben Gomori has a go at Dan Croll’s “From Nowhwere.” It’s the A-side to the two-track 10” remix EP. If previous track was twilight, this one is nightfall on the beach. This one is a slow builder with its lush piano rolls over a deep bass groove.

Until next time, thanks for reading/listening! And be sure to give DPC a Like, Follow, Listen, Read.
