If you’re looking to shake yourself out of the monotony of your midweek routine, look no further than LVL UP. The New York four-piece released the full-length album Hoodwink’d last year, featuring a wide dynamic range in a collection of totally enjoyable punk songs. A lot of this group’s music is pretty upbeat, fun and heavy, which will make it an excellent set to catch on Wednesday.

FIELD REPORT with Phox – Thursday, February 12 @ 9:30 Club:

Field Report will take the stage before Phox on Thursday, so if you plan on heading over there, be sure arrive in time to catch them. Founded by Chris Porterfield in Milwaukee, Field Report practices onstage alchemy by fusing rustic folk sounds with groovy, complex rhythms. NIGHT KITCHEN with White Reaper – Thursday, February 12 @ DC9:

Also on Thursday, this D.C.-based band creates funky indie rock, and seeing this set will be a good way to get your blood moving before White Reaper gets onstage and kicks the energy level up a notch.

Bringing sultry vocals floating amid a seascape of fluid electronica, Rochelle Jordan comes from Toronto to put people in the mood. Opening for JMSN, Jordan’s brand of fresh R&B will create a sensual atmosphere, making this the perfect concert to kick off your Valentine’s Day weekend.

RATHBORNE with Dead Professional – Saturday, February 14 @ Rock and Roll Hotel:

Still don’t know what you’re doing for Valentine’s Day? This show at the Rock and Roll Hotel is a good bet, even for the dateless. Rathborne’s easygoing, fun indie rock will provide for a solid time, no matter the status of your love life.
