  • Proud to Run 2017, a 10k run and/or 5k run/walk is a Pride Fest-sanctioned run happening early this morning.
  • More Logan Square Arts Festival today! Get some nice handmade stuff, eat some things, drink some things, watch music from folks like METZ, Chuck Inglish, Tunde Olaniran, and more!
  • Waterfront EDM fest Mamby on the Beach is here again! MGMT, Local Natives, Marian Hill, and more appear today for your dancing enjoyment!
  • Soccer Club Club, the art space owned and operated by the folks at Drag City Records, celebrates the opening of their new show, Deep Cuts by Mariano Chavez, this afternoon!
  • The Chicago Food Truck Festival comes to the South Loop. Sample some of the best offerings from the city’s wheelbound foodsfolk.
  • Virtue Cider takes over Sheffield’s Beer and Wine Garden today to celebrate the release of their new Michigan Cherry brew.
  • Chicago Whiskey, Wine, & Spirits Beach Festival stakes out a big ol portion of Montrose Beach today. Sample spirits of all kinds while taking in the beautyful Summer weather.

  • Chicago’s very own Common headlines the very fancy garden party/concert place Ravinia tonight!
  • The Empty Bottle’s Beyond The Gate outdoor cemetery concert series returns, with a show featuring Kim Gordon’s Body/Head, Diamond Terrifier Cipher, and FACS. This will be cool!
  • Indie pop craftsmen The Pains of Being Pure At Heart headline Lincoln Hall, Beverly and Ablebody open.
  • Movies in the Park! More specifically Space Jam in Rowan Park!
  • Red hot rock show at the Empty Bottle, featuring Uniform, Oozing Wound, Running, and The Repos.
  • Metro’s got a sports-themed Pride weekend dance party called Neverland: Game Day.
  • The 21st Annual Chicago SummerDance fest continues in Grant Park, with extremely danceable tunes provided by R&B band Lynne Jordan & the Shivers and Dawud and Lura Shareef.
  • The Gogo Show, a long running, female-driven comedy showcase at the Lincoln Loft, is throwing the final show of their season tonight!
  • Singular songwriter Daniel Knox headlines The Hideout, with an opening set from Mooner.
  • The US Air Guitar Championships come to Chicago, more specifically Subterranean, for one night only! Wow!
  • The LakeShake Festival comes to the waterfront, taking over Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island with all sorts of damn modern country music, if that’s what you’re into.
  • The Hideout Dance Party’s got silky smooth DJ sets from Paid Time Off and McFabulous!


  • Pride parade, y’all! Get ready to go wild or at least witness wild times in your immediate vicinity if you live pretty much anywhere near the Uptown/Lakeview/Lincoln Park area!!!!!!!
  • The very good comedy collective Hoo Ha Comedy presents an extended set from one of the funniest people in Chicago, Fran Hoepfner, in the upstairs lounge at Schubas tonight!
  • The Annoyance Theatre has become an oasis of chill vibes and weird comedy on Belmont near the red line stop, and they’re bringing that unique ethos to their pride party, happening all day today!
  • Day two of Mamby on the Beach has sets from Walk The Moon, Flying Lotus, Cut Copy, and many, many more from across the worlds of electronic music!
  • The Hideout’s annual jamboree, A Day In The Country is back for another daylong celebration of all things classic country, plus beer, bbq, and pie! Nice!!!!!
  • Boiler Room’s very popular PBR Movie Night is back with a free screening of Dazed and Confused!
  • The Empty Bottle’s Book Club convenes again to discuss The Handmaid’s Tale, both the book and the Hulu series!
  • High-concept standup comedy show Boast Rattle, a riff on the wildly popular Roast Battle, which pairs off comedians in an attempt to see who can complement the other more effectively! What a dream!
  • The very popular fusion-y type band Jaga Jazzist headlines an almost-sold-out Lincoln Hall show, with support from solo soundcraftsman Sam Prekop.
  • Baltimore’s The Holy Circle comes thru Chicago with a stop at the Empty Bottle, featuring locals New Canyons, and Silent Age.
  • Hardcore show in the Downstairs space at Subterranean, with musical guests Burn in Hell, Iron Curtain, Tourniquet, I.E.D., and Backbone.
  • It’s also the final day of LakeShake Music Fest, which is being closed out by the very popular Rascall Flatts!
