FRIDAY

SATURDAY

  • Do some daytime stuff:
  • The Chicago Cultural Center in the Loop hosts the Chicago International Map Fair all weekend. Go check out some old ass maps, that sounds cool as hell.
  • Bring some basic toiletries and new, unused underclothing to the Empty Bottle for their Bare Necessities Drive for The Night Ministry. All donors get a complementary beer!
  • Do another good deed and swing by the Comfort Station to register to be a bone marrow donor. It’s an easy process and, shit, you got enough marrow to share with those folks who don’t.
  • Head to the Promontory for another classic afternoon dance party, Avant Black presented by Party Noire.
  • The Music Box has a screening of damn The Mummy this afternoon! Get Frasered up!
  • The Brookfield Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo is a family-friendly Halloween event that takes over the premises all day long today! Costumes, hayrides, activities, and more!
  • Artist Diana Thater is joined by the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Chief Curator Michael Darling and art historian Joey Orr in conversation at the MCA, talking about her new exhibition “The Sympathetic Imagination.”n94opzb
