It’s Renegade Craft Fair weekend. Birds!

Also, tell all your friends to subscribe to the Chicago mailing list. We gave away tickets to Riot Fest and Lollapalooza to Chicago mailing list subscribers.

THIS_WEEK_ON_BYTWe write stuff. Here’s some of that stuff from the last week that may be applicable to your preferences!

  • Do some daytime stuff:
  • Here we go my folks, it’s day one of the Renegade Craft Fair! Handmade and vintage goods run WILD all up and down Division Street today and tomorrow. A bird. Put it on it!
  • Holy HELL the lineup for Farm Aid 30 is CRAZY. Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Mavis Staples, John Mellencamp in the “super cool” column. With Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson falling into the “also appearing” pile. Really cool overall though! Good cause, too! Go hang out and aid some farms at Northerly Island!
  • It’s day two of the high profile art party Expo Chicago today at Navy Pier.
  • Head to the Southport Brown Line stop for the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Taco Fest. Kick off the season with one of the most autumnal cuisines in Lakeview of all places!
  • Old Town School of Folk Music mainstay Little Miss Ann plays a daytime kids show at 1st Ward this afternoon if you’ve got little ones you’re looking to entertain!
  • Catch a special 10th anniversary screening of Brokeback Mountain this afternoon, presented by the Reeling Film Festival!
  • Midnight Circus continues to not happen at midnight but remains a circus. More information as this story develops…
  • Local PBS affilliate WTTW is presenting a screening of On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam at the Chicago Cultural Center as a part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
  • Head North to Cary, IL for the 2nd annual Cary Main Street Fest, which is probably one of the last remaining street festivals of the season! Get as much fried food on a stick as you can between now and Winter! Make Summer last as long as possible!
  • Afrobeat legend Orlando Julius plays Millennium Park this afternoon as a part of the ongoing (and so great) World Music Festival.
  • Beat Kitchen’s got the Nettelpalooza, a super-packed benefit concert for public education, raising money for the iconic East Lakeview community school Nettelhorst Elementary.
