Dave Grohl and Friends, aka Foo Fighters, play Wrigley Field this Saturday! That’s a major league band playing a Major League Ballpark! I’ll stick around for that! You’d be my hero if you gave me tickets! Big me to talk about it, but Mentos!

Also, tell all your friends to subscribe to the Chicago mailing list. We just gave away Lollapalooza tickets. We give away stuff.

THIS_WEEK_ON_BYTWe write stuff. Here’s some of that stuff from the last week that may be applicable to your preferences!

  • Do some daytime stuff:
  • The Food & Wine Festival continues, and continues to be far too expensive.
  • Chicago Fashion Fest is an outdoor street festival with a fashionable hook. It’s all about clothing and clothes and the people who make them and wear them. The Mowglis and Wild Party are among the musical guests playing today, there’s also a mechanical bull, if that’s your bag.
  • Head over to the Pomotory in Hyde Park for YoMosas-midday yoga with full brunch service after!
  • The Paper Machete is like NPR in front of your face with topical readings from high quality locals and out of towners at the Green Mill. You should go!
  • Quenchers’ weekly Flight Club highlights new brews that will be featured on their taps throughout the following week. Drink a variety of midday beers without getting hella hammered!
  • Side By Side at the Columbus Park Refectory is like a symphonic open mic, where civilian musicians can play alongside the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Wow!
  • Lala Lala, KO, and The Sea Life play an afternoon instore at Logan Square record store saki.
  • Hang out with gosh darn GREYHOUND PUPPIES at the big Whole Foods in Lincoln Park. Nonprofit 4 Greyhouse Racers will be there with some of their adoptable pups!!!!
  • Revolution Tattoo & Gallery in Logan Square’s throwing their fourth annual Tattoo-B-Que, with discounts on food-themed tattoos and free/cheap BBQ treats & booze!
  • Streets & Beats Project II is a civic-minded demonstration that ends in a posi-vibed musical celebration, that’s setting out to clean up Wicker Park before a mashed-up Michael Jackson/A Tribe Called Quest dance party later in the evening at The Pomontory.
  • The Adler Planetarium has a fun event that wraps up their Summer of Science educational series. Today’s thing is all about the power of crowdsourcing!
