  • Weekly therapy-themed chat show The Therapy Sessions at the Hungry Brain’s got a solid lineup tonight: Sarah Jane Quillin, Andrew Cantrell, and Rob Sevier!
  • Riot Fest-adjacent popup restaurant The Riot Feast hosts Emo Karaoke Night tonight. Emo Karaoke!!!!
  • The early show of the live taping of the Star Trek podcast The Greatest Generation already sold out so you better get your tickets quick for the late one! One night only at Lincoln Hall, baby!!!
  • Desert Noises, Liz Cooper and the Stampede, and VV Lightbody play Schubas.
  • Megan Statler and Bobby Condon, two local comics, are getting married tomorrow night at the Hideout and all the guests are also local comedians and this is certainly not a high concept goofaround show and definitely a real wedding!
  • MR RUSSIA celebrates the release of their new album with Vast Canvas, and Soft Ledges at the Beat Kitchen.
  • Reed’s Local’s monthly Seinfeld Trivia Night is back! It’s Biff Wants to Be a Buff, go show off your knack for Kramer deets!
  • ArfriCaribe celebrates the music, dance and songs of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba tonight in Wicker Park!


  • Half Gringa, Minor Moon, and The Jellies are a trio of dreamy pop type bands and they’re playing the Empty Bottle together tonight.
  • Head to Lincoln Hall for an insane one night only showcase of Hip Hop legends, hosted by Ghostface Killah, featuring performances from Black Sheep, M-Eighty, and many more!
  • The Hideout’s summertime niceness Picnics on the Porch returns with music from Jack Klatt and tasty treats care of the folks at Local Foods.
  • Feminist Friday at Union Park presented by the folks at Vocalo is a sick lookin dance party featuring performances from DJ Heather, Lady D, and All The Way Kay.
  • Wray, Tiny Fireflies, Moon, and Sleepwalk combine forces for a nice solid evening of shimmery, shoegaze/lo-fi pop type jams at the Beat Kitchen.
  • The Festa Italiana is an annual celebration of Italian-American-owned restaurants and businesses in Chicago, with vendors, food, drink, and live music all up and down Taylor Street at Ashland.
  • Cafe Racer, Material Girls, and Clearance play a rock show at the Hideout.
  • The DuSable Museum of African American History hosts the African Festival of the Arts Gala tonight if you’re lookin to get all dressed up and do something fancy!
  • Ex-Chicagoans Oshwa headline a show at Subterranean with special guests Monobody, The Most, and Ratboys.
  • Hopewell Brewing Company hosts a one-night-only Honey Butter Fried Chicken popup restaurant on premises. Hell of a combo!

  • The folks at the The National Museum of Mexican Art lead a walking tour of various iconic works of art throughout Pilsen this afternoon.

  • The Music Box hosts a pre-noon screening of the Jimmy Stewart classic Harvey.
  • Day one of the Air and Water Show! That’s what that awful metallic screaming noise is, happening outside. It’s not warfare, it’s just a celebration of the toys that an overinflated military budget can buy you!
