  • The Chicago Art & Design Show comes to Navy Pier this weekend, a brand new art show with original art from across all media.
  • Your friends at the Chicago Reader put together a nice looking multi-brewery tour at On Tour Brewing Co., Uncommon Ground/GreenStarBrewery, Dovetail Brewery and Begyle Brewing. Hell yeah!
  • The Chicago Teachers Union Center hosts the Illinois Resistance Resource Fair, a gathering of likeminded activist organizations looking to build out their membership, spread awareness, and develop solidarity across groups!

  • Hugely excellent NYC rock duo 75 Dollar Bill coheadlines an awesome looking show at the Hideout with local drone collective Mind over Mirrors! Big old hell yeah to this show.
  • Garage psych mystics King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard play the Metro with Orb and Stonefield.
  • The very good podcast My Favorite Murder records a live episode at The Vic tonight!
  • Beauty Bar’s got a throwback Y2K dance party tonight, with all the hottest jams from the early 2000s ready for screaming along to.
  • Extremely popular standup Ali Wong plays two shows tonight at the Chicago Theater! Insane!
  • The Reva & David Logan Center For The Arts has the closing ceremonies for their three day gathering of artists and scholars, Centennial Brooks, with music from Nicole Mitchell and Jamila Woods! Really great stuff!
  • Chicago-based indie filmmaker Joe Swanberg’s latest film, Win It All, screens tonight at the Music Box, followed by a Q&A session with Swanberg and Jake Johnson, who co-wrote the film.
  • The Empty Bottle’s ongoing monthly experimental jazz series Mirrored returns with the trio of Hatcher/Namay/Harris setting your evening up with a vibe-y start!
  • Bombadil and The Predictions play Schubas this eve.
  • The Hideout Dance Party’s got sets from Ariel Zetina and In Case of Emergency.
  • Oh hell yeah the Midwest Rum Festival takes over the Logan Square Auditorium tonight! Sample some exotic fine rums baby!!!!!
  • Melodime, Cardinal Harbor, and Midwest are playing Subterranean.
  • The 2017 DMC Chicago DJ Battle for US Supremacy comes to Lincoln Hall, with DJ sets from the Hip Hop Project DJs, a showcase set from Shortkut, and much more!
  • The always great Windy City Soul Club is back at the Bottle for another late night dance party sesh!
  • Sarah Louise and Nathaniel Braddock come together to celebrate the release of Nathaniel’s new album Quadrille & Collapse at Constellation tonight.


  • The Chicago Pizza Summit returns to the 1st Ward at Chop Shop with a full slate of some of the city’s finest pizza chefs planning special surprise treats for you while you take in music from DJs and rapper Showyousuck, take photos in the pizza photo booth, and explore the pop-up U.S. Pizza Museum.
  • Axeman Delicate Steve headlines Lincoln Hall with support from Max and the Mild Ones!
  • Check out a screening of the Late Late Breakfast pilot at the Hideout, which was filmed last Summer and premieres today!
  • Six Organs of Admittance is the long-running project from guitar virtuoso Ben Chasny and you get a chance to hear tunes from his latest, very good, album at the Empty Bottle, with opening sets from Tashi Dorji & Tyler Damon and Health & Beauty.
  • Today is the final edition of the well loved comedy debate show Arguments & Grievances, before it relocates to Los Angeles with its producers. Expect madness, irrational arguments, and insane hilarity!
  • The Chicago Theatre’s got The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the iconic concert film! Look for appearances from folks like Warren Haynes, Dr. John, Jamey Johnson, Don Was, and many more!
  • Experimental electronic musician Floating Points plays a special live show at Metro with support from JFDR.
  • Head to the Logan around 11pm for a screening of the Giamatti classic American Splendor.
  • Acid Dad, Honduras, and Lucille Furs play Schubas!
  • Paul K. and the Killer Elite plays The Hideout this evening.
  • Dead Sun, Vagabonds, Elder Light, and Close Kept play Downstairs at Subterranean.
  • DJ Michael Vallera spins the 2nd installment of Bleak Brunch at the Empty Bottle, with the aim of delicately guiding you through last night’s debauchery.
