National Museum of the American Indian is set to virtually screen More Than A Word next week in partnership with the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) and Santa Fe Indian Market as part of Native Cinema Showcase 2020.
The documentary film focuses on the Washington football team’s use of a derogatory mascot, and after both screenings you can stick around to watch a conversation between Kevin Gover (Pawnee), Director of the National Museum of the American Indian, and activist Amanda Blackhorse (Diné), a plaintiff in the 2014 lawsuit Blackhorse v. Pro Football, Inc.
