Took a road trip to Charlottesville this weekend. It was beautiful. Monticello has a nice new museum. Anyway, during the ride I listened to a random playlist of songs I hadn’t heard yet and this was my fav that came up. At first I was like hello! Jens Lekman replaced his backup band with Neon Indian and was remixed by the Tough Alliance, but a couple google searches later I discovered this was in fact a whole new entity, LA band Kisses. Their 7 inch single Bermuda is sold out and there is a bootleg unmastered copy of their album floating around, but I’m holding out for the final product. The only other thing I’ve heard so far is the slightly tweaked Active Child remix. This is my new go to single for the summer. I’m positive it would have garnered some serious hate at Camp Camp this past Sat, so it’s obviously a keeper.
Related: Dude from Kisses is also in the band Princeton, who are also pretty good.
