I just got home from our sold out Bentzen Ball finale show at the 9:30 Club. It was pretty much perfect. Sarah Silverman is cool as shit in real life. But yeah, coordinating 60+ comedians over 24 events in 10 different venues is tough work. Not to mention driving the enormous PR effort, throwing the after parties, getting sponsors, designing programs, selling merch, running a complex ticketing system, and staffing volunteers. We haven’t slept or eaten properly in quite a while. I’m proud of what we pulled off and the people I work with on this site are amazing. Some of our behind the scenes people like Jason and Erik don’t get enough credit for what they do, so if you see them, give them a bear hug. Thanks to our killer interns, photogs, and volunteers that helped us over this weekend (except for the weird ones). Thanks to my girlfriend for stage managing like a pro and putting up with me being a stressed out scatterbrained basket case for the past month. Thanks to everyone that came out, and for those of you that didn’t, I hope you get gonorrhea.
Here is John Carpenters’ The End from Assault on Precinct 13. It’s really good.
