Took a road trip to Harper’s Ferry this past weekend. Not sure why I have never done this before. Tucked in a gorgeous little valley in WV, it’s rife with American history and tourist crap. Stroll through the fake old timey town and get the weird feeling that you’re on a movie set, hike the trails for some great views, pet the 10,000 dogs everyone brings, watch as a train rides past seemingly every 5 minutes, and don’t miss decent BBQ and terrible service at Hannah’s Train Depot, old fashioned candy at Cool Confectioneries, and I shit you not, a steam punk store.
As always, the ipod was on road trip random. The best track to pop up was the early Radiohead Pixies tribute Stop Whispering. I usually neglect Pablo Honey-era material due to the band getting so much better, but also because I generally write off anything I bought in 9th grade, but then anytime it crops up like this I still love it. Here is the US single version remixed by Chris Sheldon:
