DJ Beppe Loda was a resident at Italy’s club Typhoon in the 80s, and one of the players in the eclectic druggy Balearic spin-off genre Afro-Cosmic.  He put together a group called MC1 (Memory Control One) with Francesco Boscolo and put out the single Basic in 1983.  Shockingly the group is still together and making music.  Although they seem to wait about 20 years in between releases.  Basic included two b-side remixes by Beppe, one of which I’m posting here that I found on his incredible 2008 Typhoon – Portrait of the Electronic Years compilation.  It’s a perfect slice of brilliant instrumental italo disco synth cheese that Eric Wareheim should be hired to direct a video for.
