Man, people love partying in museums.  In case you’re one of the few people that haven’t bought tickets yet to our Newseum holiday party this Friday, hop over to http://bytnewseum.eventbrite.com/ and get some.  So… let’s do some news songs.  Whatever that means.

Here is (Ain’t That) Good News, released in 1964 by soul legend Sam Cooke.  It’s based off an old gospel song, but instead of the good news being about Jesus he changed it to gettin’ a piece when his baby comes home.  Pretty upbeat for being the first piece of music he recorded after his 18 month old son died.  **SAD FACE**  Later it would appear on his seminal album of the same name, containing his masterpiece A Change is Gonna Come.  Yeah, you should probably add some more Sam Cooke to your collection right now.
