We’re coming up on fall and that means lots of holidays, but maybe you need to show that extra special beer lover something special? Okay, they don’t have to be a beer lover, but perhaps a beer drinker to attend the upcoming Birch & Barley beer dinner at 7pm on Monday October 10th. Chefs Kyle Bailey and Tiffany MacIsaac will treat you to some delicious eats as you make your way through a beer pairing dinner with Epic Brewing Company (out of Salt Lake City, Utah) and up and coming local stars DC Brau.

With brewmasters from each brewery making the trek back and forth for an upcoming collaboration brew (see below), Birch and Barley decided to capitalize on Epic brewmaster, Kevin Crompton being in town. Brewing will occur that day, and we’ve found out that fresh wort from the brew will be incorporated as some of the ingredients in a 5 course tasting menu. With 9 different beers to accompany that meal, how can you go wrong?

If you’re still not convinced…. (I don’t see how) the menu is still being determined, but as of right now we they’ll be debuting a beer from DC Brau’s barrel-aged series, a firkin of Penn Quarter Porter aged in Catoctin Creek Rye Whiskey Barrels with Chicory and Wormwood. (If you don’t know what that means, come learn!)

Can’t make the dinner? Stay tuned because the DC Brau Facebook page has confirmed that on November 3rd, we’ll all be able to taste the deliciousness that will be “Fermentation Without Representation Imperial Pumpkin Porte” – I’m thinking perfect for a post Halloween party.
