If you love incredibly humid days and unpredictably stormy nights, this week is for you!

Every Thursday at 9 a.m we mail you our Best Weekend Bets. Best Weekday Bets are similar to our Best Weekend Bets but there’s more options since it’s more socially acceptable to have more fun on the weekend.

ACTIVE: I have no idea has dressage works. I’m interested in learning why the horsies are dancing. This dressage clinic may shed some light.

CULTURE: Final day to check our POW! WOW!

FILM: Learn about the man behind The Maltese Falcon and The Thin Man at the S. Dillon Ripley Center for their program Dashiell Hammett: A Gumshoe with Polish.

FOOD + DRINK: If you can handle cocktails on a Monday, we recommend Royal Knights: April Showers Bring May Flower {Cocktails} at The Royal. The rain did bring flowers! And sneezing from allergies!

FREE: 730DC hosts a local journalism happy hour/presentation at Pearl Street Warehouse.

MUSIC: Very excited to see The Kills at Lincoln Theatre. They’re not playing many US dates this year so a stop at the beautiful U Street venue is even more special.

OUTSIDE: Did you know David Lynch used to have a studio in Old Town Alexandria? He did! We’re positive that tidbit won’t be included in today’s Old Town Walking Tour.

STAGE: The 34th Annual Helen Hayes Awards will be given out at The Anthem.

STAY IN: Waiting for the new season of Silicon Valley to end so you can binge watch the entire season in one night? Your time is now. The season 5 finale aired last night.

ACTIVE: The Caps take on the Lightning at home in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I stand by my stance that the Caps will never win a Stanley Cup with Ovechkin.

CULTURE: Learn about what goes behind the art at Curators in Conversation: Kasper König and Gianni Jetzer at the Hirshhorn.

FILM: Labyrinth: A Night of Polish Animation is at Suns Cinema. It’s not the Labyrinth you’re thinking of.

FOOD + DRINK: Dine-N-Dash is just a few weeks away so we’re thinking of José Andrés restaurants. Tonight Oyamel host a 3 Stars Beer Dinner. Who doesn’t like Mexican food and craft beer?

FREE: If you’re not doing pilates in a park, what are you even doing in a park?

MUSIC: The most interesting music show of the week is Concert in The Blind with David Wax Museum and Lowland Hum at Pearl Street Warehouse. Both acts will be performing in the round and the audience will be blindfolded.

Concert in The Blind with David Wax Museum, Lowland Hum

OUTSIDE: When Morris’ American Bar opened earlier this year we said it’s a nice place, with no television, to get a cocktail with someone you like. It gets nicer tonight when their outdoor space, Fix Bar, opens.

STAGE: Lady Parts Justice hosts a Pro Choice Trivia Night at The Wonderland Ballroom. Win prizes for knowledge!

STAY IN: Watch Labyrinth at home. The one you’re thinking about.

ACTIVE: Our quest to recommend yoga in every non-yoga studio continues with today’s recommendation of Bear Yoga at The Green Lantern.

CULTURE: You Are Magic by Alicia Eggert opens today and runs through Sunday. It begins at the Arlington Mill Community Center.

FILM: Visiting embassies is one the best and most overlooked aspects of living in D.C. Watch After the Storm, for free, this evening at the Embassy of Japan.

FOOD + DRINK: The newest Shouk opens this week at The Edison in Union Market District. We love Shouk, especially their pitas and Shouk burger.

FREE: [To the tune of “Let’s Talk About Sex” by Salt-N-Pepa] Let’s talk about CBD / Let’s talk about you and me / Let’s talk about all the good things / And all the bad things / About C – B – D / Let’s talk about CBD / Let’s talk about CBD

Let’s Talk CBD is at Spaceycloud Lounge.

MUSIC: Lots of good shows tonight but our pick is BJ The Chicago Kid at U Hall.

OUTSIDE: I love living in a city and I love having a job but every once in a while I wish I lived near goats and had no job so I could do yoga with goats at 9 a.m.

STAGE: Washington Post chief theater critic Peter Marks interviews director Eric Tucker about the just extended Saint Joan at the Folger Theatre.

STAY IN: Mamma Mia! comes to Netflix! Get ready for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again with Mamma Mia! Cher is in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Cher rules.
