Every Thursday at 9 a.m (sometimes sooner) we mail you our Best Weekend Bets. Best Weekday Bets are similar to our Best Weekend Bets but longer because we pretend Thursday is a weekday.
CULTURE: Go on a nice walk and learn the history of the First Ladies at Lafayette Square – it’s a win-win. The tour will delve into unrecognized contributions – from Dolley Madison to Eleanor Roosevelt.
FILM: Catch some ghosts at Smoke and Barrel with a viewing of 13 Ghosts, a film about an eccentric uncle with a haunted house. Special glasses will be available allowing brave patrons to view some ghosts- we’re intrigued!
FOOD + DRINK: Oyamel‘s Tequila & Mezcal festival is one of our favorite parties of the year. Drinking excellent tequila / mezcal, eating good food and partying in one of the best restaurants in D.C. is damn good way to spend your week.
FREE: GW’s Textile Museum brings us a book talk on “No Access Washington D.C.” by Beth Kanter. Her book details the unknown and unseen parts of D.C., from secret alleys to hidden caverns!
MUSIC: of Montreal makes your Monday a little bit better at the 9:30 Club.
STAGE: Don Giovanni is coming to the Kennedy Center. It’s a classic.
STAY IN: Read about professional wrestler Trish Adora, and then dive right into D.C.’s wrestling scene.
