Hey everyone! This week’s selection weekend events on D.C. BEST WEEKEND BETS are, as always, hand picked from our awesome AGENDA HOMEPAGE and carefully calibrated for maximum fun, minimum stress and have Golden Girls and other gold things as a theme, because our very golden Ragnarock After Hours event is this Saturday @ Hirshhorn (and, yes, Golden Globes too).HI

Some really cool things on the horizon:

THIS_WEEK_ON_BYTAll sorts of great stuff:

Just make sure you’re not forgetting anything…

  • then:
  • BYT + Hirshhorn present Ragnaröck, our first museum after hours of the year, and your last chance to spend some time in the amazing Ragnar Kjartansson’s exhibition.
  • Go dance with the QREW at Songbyrd.
  • Learn how to square dance at St. Stephen’s.
  • The Partial Magic label launch party is happening at Dr. Clocks! There’s going to be vinyl.
  • Vladimir Caamaño is at Drafthouse Comedy.
  • There’s a Drake vs. Kanye dance party at Black Cat. Kanye wins.
  • The Pinkerton Raid is at DC9. They’re not a Weezer cover band.
  • Baltimore Pick: The Funky Divas Dance Party is at The Crown. Fill yourself with cheap beer and show off your probably horrible dance moves to the sounds of TLC, Aaliyah, Lil Kim, and so much more.
  • + ALL SORTS OF other stuff

  • leaving the house?
  • Ride the Metro sans pants. Or don’t and just look at the photos.
  • See a preview of Charm at Atlas.
  • Benjy Ferree and Sistr Mid9ight are at Black Cat.
  • Go to Comet Ping Pong for T-Rextasy, Free Cake for Every Creature and Julian.
  • One Eight Distilling has their 2nd anniversary brunch fest.
  • Broke? Christina and Michelle Naughton perform at the American Art Museum for a free afternoon show.
  • Cul-de-sac at the National Gallery also looks good. The NGA film programming should always be consulted.
  • Light Beams and Warm Sun are at Galaxy Hut.
  • Another good Virginia option is Justin Townes Earle at the Birchmere.
  • Baltimore Pick: Spend Sunday doing something that Bowie would approve of. Like drinking and dancing at The Windup Space for Night Of Stardust. Cover is $8 and the proceeds are benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, so when you’re hungover on Monday you can still feel good about yourself.
  • + ALL SORTS OF other stuff…

  • And just like that, the weekend is over. How do you feel about that?

DONT_FORGETPHEW. THAT WAS A LOT. BUT:  THERE ARE A BAJILLION OTHER THINGS TO DO LISTED IN THE BYT AGENDA PAGES, so use it (to both post your events and search for them) and if you think we may have missed something, comment away–you know you want to. No excuses:

Till Next time:
