What suave mammajamma was heralded as one of the 100 greatest living songwriters and somehow changed his major from neuroscience to “American History Through Narrative Folk Music” …? (Swoon.) That’s right, it’s Josh Ritter–the Cash-and-Dylan-inspired singer/songwriter with a voice so soft and sensitive it’ll make you weep tears of longing.

Ritter, one of this generation’s monsters of folk (no supergroup needed, thank you very much), is playing Wolf Trap tomorrow with Brandi Carlile and The Lumineers (what a line-up!) and we really could not be more excited for it. In celebration, here’s a video featuring puppets, a mummy in love, waltzing, and everything else twee and endearing, like trumpet solos and bittersweet love affairs.

Here’s a super-bonus extra-great video/song, “Temptation of Adam” because it really is just a phenomenal song.

Here’s yet another great Ritter video/song, “Girl in the War.” (If you hadn’t noticed, that well really doesn’t run dry.)
