Sure, XYZT was an Instagram dream, and Spirit of Autumn was a family friendly smash, but it feels like Artechouse team is really coming into its own with the latest installation in their Art+Technology gallery – KINGDOM OF COLORS, which opens this week.
Putting the venue’s 270 degree projection system to optimal use, the installation of dreamlike colorful liquids in motion is the first ever publicly shown work from French filmmaker Thomas Blanchard (whose work you may have seen in Apple’s iPhoneX commercial) and artist Oilhack. Soundtracked by Lyon-based composer Leonardo Villiger and using a mix of paint, oil, and liquid soap, they have created this kind of surreal and psychedelic experience. Every frame of the video has been shot with macro lenses. The result offers a fluid and otherworldly composition of interacting colors. As a viewer, your best decision is to simply sit, and let it all wash all over you. No two photos of the show will be the same, no two reactions either.
As an added bonus – the ARTECHOUSE creative team is also presenting an extended selection of the Augmented Reality Cocktails to complement the new installation. Powered through the ARTECHOUSE app, visitors will have the opportunity to see specialty crafted cocktails come to life at the tip of the fingers through their smartphones. If the press preview was any indication, get ready to see these all over your social feeds.
