Welcome to your daily Hit List featuring the shows, events, gatherings, and so on that will keep your social life slightly above average!
- The all day conference VISIONDC takes over Arena Stage. The most interesting aspect of it is ART TANK, a contest billed similar to Shark Tank, but about art. Artists will pitch their ideas and some will be funded on the spot. Shark Tank is such a good show. It’s able to be self-aware in its staged-ness and pseudo-reality but allows for ideal TV show conversations from viewers. Would you fund that? Would you buy that? Who would buy that? Such a good show. Anyway, ART TANK begins at 3:30. VISIONDC runs until 7:30 p.m.
- D.C.’s longest running film festival continues. Tonight’s Filmfest DC pick is 150 Milligrams at E Street Cinema.
- Play some Star Wars trivia at Penn Social. My favorite part of the Star Wars series is the patricide.
- The show of the night is Bruisy Peets, Video Age, and Dove Lady at Slash Run.
- Didn’t get enough Earth Day? Or Science March? Or singing? Head to DC9 for A People’s Choir DC’s Sing-Along: Earth.
If none of these options float your boat, check out our AGENDA for more ideas (side note: promoters/venues: posting events in the AGENDA is free and open to all-so please use it.)
