Celebrate International Women’s Day the right way with the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ new exhibition and after hours party!
Women House is the highly anticipated sequel to Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro’s 1972 installation Womanhouse. Like the piece that came before it, Women House will play off the conventional ideas of a woman’s place in the home. You can expect photography, videos, sculpture and large scale installations from a variety of artists all tackling the complex expectations of women in society.
Want to check out the exhibition before all of your friends? Hit up NMWA’s after hours House Party on March 8 to get exclusive access to the exhibit, plus an open bar, an assortment of house party inspired foods (how long has it been since you’ve had pigs in a blanket?) and some sweet music from Mistress Mambo. There will also be exhibition tours (sometimes art needs context!) and some sick feminist wares in museum shop.
General Admission: $40
Museum Members, Students and Seniors Admission: $30
