D.C. lovers of great beer and music, lend us your ears; we’ve got some great news.
The fine folks at Lagunitas Brewing Company are couchtrippin’ their way across the country with some new brews and a few of our favorite bands before their epic SXSW party. How could it get even better? On March 4 they’re stopping at U Street Music Hall for a free show with J. Roddy Walston and the Business AND The So So Glos to tap their Fusion Ale made SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU with the help of yours truly and our friends at DC Beer.
We flew out to Petaluma to help our fine freaky friends at Lagunitas brew the ultimate Fusion Ale for D.C. and came up with The CouchTrippin’ Fusion 19, a “brown-ish ale” that’s been aged in some High West Manhattan barrels we’re sure will emit the perfect trace flavors of one of our favorite cocktails.
Throw in a free show by J. Roddy and The So So Glos and you’ve got yourself one hell of a party as only the weird and wonderful Lagunitas family can throw. We’ll see you there.
In the meantime, check out our behind-the-scenes photos from our brewing trip featuring a lot of beer, a lot of great times and some great performances by Allen Stone and Tumbleweed Wanderers:
