To say this has been a stressful week is a massive understatement, and so we’re super stoked to be able to offer a bit of respite in the form of an album premiere; Atlanta-based quartet Art Contest are set to release Fit Pitcher tomorrow (Friday, November 6th), but they’ve very kindly offered to give us first dibs on the premiere today. (Chockablock full of indie pop gems, it feels like an incredibly appropriate level of frenetic energy to match the vibe of the past few days.)
From Cole Monroe (vox, keys and lyrics):
“During one of the worst periods of my life, Art Contest grew from a duo into a 4-piece, I switched from guitars to keyboards, and we wrote ‘Fit Pitcher’. In hindsight, I’m not sure why we didn’t do this sooner.
A clear and concise eight songs with noticeable energy packed in, there’s no fluff or space on the new album. It’s 28 minutes of instruments and a voice —no amps and no studios. Just a room and dedicated hands.”
Check it out below, and be sure to grab a copy tomorrow (which also happens to be the November edition of Bandcamp Friday) here:
