It’s a celebrate-good-times-c’mon! kind of day today. It’s beautiful (nice to see you there, sunshine) yet still muggy (hello again, swamp ass), but that’s okay. There’s an awesome pool party tomorrow, you might have heard.
I am celebrating all weekend long and starting it off right with a Champagne Sidecar: a delicious combination of two of my favorite drinks.
- 1/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/4 oz brandy
- 1/4 oz Cointreau
Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Fill up with Champagne. I don’t think I need to tell you how amazing this tastes (of course, not when you use E&J Brandy. Pay for the good stuff!), even if you substitute Triple Sec for Cointreau. It tends to make it a little too sweet but the Champagne will cut it nicely and it’s only 1/4 oz. Barring whenever I decide to operate heavy machinery, you can bet I’ll be sipping these all weekend.
