It’s the most delicious time if the year. RAMMY Awards fever has hit the DMV and there’s no stopping it. Grab your friends, grab your date, grab your parents because if these nominees don’t inspire you to go out and do some serious dining, nothing will. The best part about the RAMMYs is that it serves as a guideline for how the D.C.’s food scene is doing. Six or seven years ago, it felt like everyone had the same opinions on the best fine dining restaurants in D.C. The smaller pool of places lead to most people drawing the same conclusions. In the last few years, our food scene has expanded significantly and the competition has become much more fierce. Everyone has a different opinion and that makes industry awards like these even more exciting.

Rammy Nominations 2018-5

Last night, the hopeful nominees gathered at The Hamilton to serve up some fantastic food and drinks, while showing off their prowess. Our favorite drink came from the folks at Bar Charley, who created a smokey rye and cynar cocktail called the Step Son, a play on their very own Stepdad cocktail. Our favorite bite came from Maydan, who went with an upscale drunk food option and served up halloumi with honey and chopped nuts. I could have ate (and drank) a million of them, but you don’t want to read any more of this. You just want the nominees.

The RAMMY Awards will take place on June 10.
