Saturday night is alright for birthdays. BYT loves Artisphere and we love celebrations… even 1 year birthdays! The cool kids already have their tickets to The 1 Party at Artisphere. Just sayin’.

Thursday

We insisted that you to go to the Corcoran Gallery’s new exhibit 30 Americans last week. But maybe you need more incentive to check this out. So try out the visiting artist series, which will feature a lecture by painter Nina Chanel Abney.

George Mason is celebrating the grand opening of Founders Hall Gallery with an inaugural art show. “New Beginnings” features local DC and Virginia artists whose work is a conscious attempt to change course, either out of necessity or shear curiosity.

The 2nd Annual Tour of Black Lesbian poets is coming through DC and delivering THE REVIVAL a night of music, libation, and poetry. A touring troupe and special guest break the envelope of safe space for today’s queer and trans artists and allies while sharing the written word. Get a taste of the event with this video then buy your tickets.

A heavy dose of Columbian music is hitting Napolean Lounge. The night is Maracuyeah presents: Pernett from Colombia in a Parranda Extravanganza. Its going to be tropical and hot and full of dancing bliss. Its only $5 for a sweaty wave of Columbian jams.

Friday

We have more art for you… Pleasant Plains Workshop has an early art show to start out your Friday. “Human Mansprings” is a solo exhibition by formerly DC-based artist Steven Frost. Come down to the reception from 6-9pm and catch the performance at 8pm. Frost work explores masculinity by using materials common in the male-dominated world of sports to create forms and installations. Go explore some masculinity, boys!

Its fall and fur is in! Go down to Otter Night at the DC Eagle for a night of scruffy, fuzzy frolic! Special incentive: Go the facebook event page and post an otter pic. The person posting the winning photo with the most “likes” wins a free drink for them and four of their friends.  Plus the drink specials are $3 rails and domestic, $2 drafts, and $1 absinthe shooters (for the brave). Otters and their admires should be otterly excited!

It’s Party Lights at Black Cat and its kind of a big deal… PARTY LIGHTS IS TURNING 4! Come down for the music of 60’s girl groups, garage, and soul. What’s not to love?

Saturday

The Asian Pacific American Film Fest opens tonight (and runs through the 13th)! The film fest runs in various cinemas in the district, but Saturday night is at E Street Cinema for “Saigon Electric”.

BYGays like totally have ESPN or something, just because we like totally for sure already know where you will be Saturday night… BYT Presents: The 1 Party! Relive BURST! Back Door — Destination: Bootyland is your opportunity to shake it, drop it like its hot, and generally back that thing up at Black Cat. It would be a shame to pass up that kind of booty boogie opportunity.

More celebrations come your way with the 2 year anniversary of Peach Pit at DC9. We love the 90’s because of crop tops, huge cell phones, all that hair product, polyester stirrup pants, and duhhh the MUSIC. Y’all ready for this? We are.

Sunday

Go shake your tail feather with your friends at C*cktober Fest Sunday School at Local 16! You can come early to enjoy brunch and bottomless and stay to enjoy the sunday school that wants you rock out (with your cock out). From 3-9pm you can pre-game at Sunday School then walk a “straight” line down the block for the rest of your Super Slutty Sunday night.

If you really feel like it you could get your Lilith Fair on with The Indigo Girls at The Music Center at Strathmore.

It’s Columbus Day weekend so why not do something lavish? The Metro Underground and DCFB are bringing together some of the DC’s best DJ’s, models, fashion, entertainment at Ultra Bar to present you with the DC Fetish Ball! “Cirque” will be a night excellence inspired by Cirque du Soleil so pony up your $20 and dress to impress.

Continue to shake your tail feather at WTF?! Super Slutty Edition. Its super and slutty and the prefect place to go after Sunday School. Go take your shirt off and dance real slutty at Town.

Monday

Wait… You have the day off? Oh, you lucky little whore. Why not frolic all day and buy that tank top that’s on sale… of course you can still wear it in the fall! Or just spend your time at work secretly lurking all those new photos your ex put up.
