  3. Find a Walking Trail
    Is running a little too fast for you? Not a problem, just find the nearest branch of the Anacostia River Trails networks and take a walk – you’ll get your 10,000 steps in, easy. The network has over 20 miles of trails along the Anacostia river so you can either stick with a familiar route or almost always find a new path to go on.

  4. Climb a Mountain
    You don’t even need to dig out the carabiners and rope to scale Sugarloaf mountain, it’s pretty tiny. Luckily, you still get a great view at the top. There are also a bunch of great trails that you can take together to create the perfect length hike for your fitness level.

    For those who are fully committed to working out every method way – ice skating, rock climbing, swimming, and more, look no further than The St. James complex in Springfield, VA. It has everything you could ever need for the perfect workout and trust me, it’s an absolute blast to just go explore.

  6. Curling at the Wharf
    Who needs curling up with a good book, when you can curl up with a cold stone? You know you want to. What, you don’t think that it counts as exercising? Well if the olympics count it as a sport, that’s good enough for me! This weekly event runs on Mondays through the end of January, which gives you plenty of time to get your broom out and sweep your way to a fitter you.
