Doctor No Says:

You realize you’re going up against the Virginia Gold Cup, right? I don’t know…
;)

April 21, 2008 at 10:50 pm
Sara Mun Says:

i’m pretty sure VA Goldcup is in the morning though.

Michael Says:

Do you really have to be 18+? This blows…

April 24, 2008 at 11:58 pm
why Says:

can you rsvp fuck you? because i’d really like to come, but you know, you do it to yourselves.already exist. and a donation? so yes, i’d like to rsvp for your party. i’d like to rsvp fuck you.

joshsisk Says:

is a $10 donation really that outlandish to see the Apes, Video Hippos, and Food For Animals? If those three bands played at a club, I’m sure if would be $10, and it wouldn’t be a suggested donation, either.

April 25, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Svetlana Says:

Yes.
Not to mention ALL THE OTHER BANDS/PERFORMERS/EXPENSES/DJs/EXHIBITS etc… that are involved in the (bargain) price of 10 bucks.

Its a 9 hour event.
I averages 1.11 dollars per hour of awesome.

And the RSVP policy is there because it is a non traditional venue, and for safety/security purposes it is kinda nice if we were to actually know you’re coming.

Send an email.

As a side note-if we all don’t kill each other by this time next week-THIS PARTY IS SERIOUSLY GOING TO BE A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

A concerned artist Says:

Um-I trust there will be adult supervision as there will be alot of art hanging around that does not need to be messed with. Just a concern Artomatic Citizen.

April 25, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Svetlana Says:

It is happening in the empty space on the ground floor.
Nowhere near anyone’s art, aside from our own photographers’.

April 25, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Cale Says:

adult supervision! my parents will be there as chaperones and will make sure nobody is dancing too close together. plenty of soda pop to go around though, don’t worry.

April 25, 2008 at 6:34 pm
Ming Says:

Why the “donation?” Sounds like some kind of legal finessing. If $10, “charge” $10. Suggestion donations that are essentially mandatory are a big turn off.

April 26, 2008 at 1:32 pm
some guy Says:

i am royally pissed, i would love to go but wont be back in town until the 4th.

April 27, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Seriously Says:

Is $10 really going to break the bank?

April 28, 2008 at 2:37 pm
E Says:

I can’t believe “Some Guy” is royally pissed. Are you really that angry? I mean, enough to use the word “Royally?”

April 28, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Jeff Mewbourn Says:

Congrats on the relaunch! Forget the haters, you’re a good blog doing good things for a semi-decent to middling city. Good luck!

April 29, 2008 at 8:50 am
Cherry Says:

I love the person who said “royally pissed.” I was thinking about how awesome it sounded before I read what “E” said. I hope they don’t mind if I use the phrase. In fact, I’m royally pissed I can’t tell someone right now!
Can’t make the party as I will be at LDP. Hm.

thirsty Says:

probably a dumb question, but an important one. what’s the deal with booze? the flyer says food but no mention of alcohol…just checking.

April 30, 2008 at 11:14 am
Svetlana Says:

some things are UNDERSTOOD.
was the relaunch party ever NOT going to have booze?

April 30, 2008 at 4:12 pm
albedo Says:

Ghad, you whiney little shits. People gotta eat. You want all this for free? How about you volunteer to do something instead of expecting an invitation to leech? The “donation” is because the sponsoring org can *only* accept donations. No one’s making a damn profit here anyway so shut your whelping craws. {These are my views only and I don’t work for anyone.}

does that mean I can pay $5?

May 2, 2008 at 4:17 am
rachel Says:

as for adult supervision, my parents are TOTALLY coming. i will try to hide the make out tee pee from them. and, as for the $10, it is but a mere pittance considering the Supreme Awesomeness that will be the party. i mean, how many times have i paid $5 or $10 for stupid canned music at a dance nite ala the cat/dc9? this will be much more worth it.

LG Says:

Aaaahhhh… I’m mad I’ll be out of town. Sounds like a lot of cool shit at one event. Mixin’ it up! Pretty rad.

P.S. Happy Bday Cale!

so… i know the end of time… is fucking long… but really… will it be done before the metro stops, or…. will it be done around the time it opens????

indiecognition Says:

All the new scrollbars within the article content sections and event listings are either awesome, or suck…and I’m not telling.

I miss Cale and Svetlana. Go relaunch!

Prixton Says:

I just want to say that it’s 8pm now on the day of the event and I literally *just* found out about it. I could easily make it to the location of the event in about 15 mins but I missed the deadline to RSVP. I am a pretty active DC native; been going to art-o-matic and other local events for years, but I’ve never encountered one that required an RSVP, and I think requiring one is lame, because it means that I can’t go now x_x
