Your Rambling Yoko Ono/Wholly Unlikely Collaboration Video of the Day

It is with curiosity that I announce YOKOKIMTHURSTON, a new supergroup comprised of Yoko Ono, Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. It’s definitely something–be it sonically or historically–though I’m not quite sure I’m ready for their September full-length after hearing the soaring hips and yelps of yesterday’s release “Early in the Morning” or “Mulberry” (video below).
But maybe I’m just not doing acid opening my mind enough this afternoon.
The fantastic-no-matter-how-you-look-at-it news is that proceeds from “Early in the Morning” will benefit Ashinaga Rainbow House, a nonprofit building shelter for last year’s tsunami victims in Japan. If this is your thing, please buy via iTunes and Amazon.
…It would seem to be an unlikely collaboration, unless one had familiarity with Thurston Moore’s previous work.
